A. Bandelier was credited in Indiana Jones' journal for sketching the map to the Temple of the Chachapoyan Warriors. In 1893, Bandelier mapped the region of Chachapoyas, Peru following the explorations made by Juan Crisostomo Nieto's 1843 expedition, noting the presence of a "head hunter village".[1]

The Lost Journal of Indiana Jones stating that Bandelier drew the map to the Temple of the Chachapoyan Warriors creates a continuity error with the Raiders of the Lost Ark Sourcebook which attributes the map to an explorer named McHenry.[2]
