Abu was the apprentice of Imam on the outskirts of Cairo in Egypt in 1936.[1]
He unwittingly supplied Indiana Jones with a bowl of tainted dates, poisoned by the Monkey Man while Abu was away attending to other duties. On his return he briefly caught sight of the man in the doorway but supplied the food regardless,[2] bemused by Jones' theatrics of flicking a date in the air instead of simply just eating it[1].
