Flying over the Himalayas

Air East Asia (東亜西亜航空公司; Dōng Yàxiyà Hángkōng Gōngsī) was a Chinese airline company. They operated flights around Asia and the Middle East. Their planes were marked with the airline's name in both English and Chinese.

In 1936, Indiana Jones and Marion Ravenwood used "Air East Asia" to travel from Nepal to Cairo, Egypt, via Karachi, India and Baghdad, Iraq.

Behind the scenes

Air East Asia, as a 1930s airline, appears to be fictional. However, in 2006, a real airline began service with the name "Air East Asia", offering service to Bangladesh.
