Al was a worker at a Boiler Works company
In 1936, Al was paid by Juan Soto to turn his back for a couple of hours while someone stole the Arnhem Ring from the National Museum. Following the theft of the ring, he was interrogated by the police, but was not suspected. However, when Professor Indiana Jones and Marion Ravenwood questioned and implicated him in the crime, Al punched Jones tried to escape. He then tried to kill Jones and Ravenwood, but was knocked out by Marcus Brody with his umbrella. He then told them his real name and how he was paid to look the other way.
