Aqbik was a bandit. In 1938, Aqbik and his comrades attacked a train carrying Indiana Jones, Sophia Hapgood, Khamal and Patar Kali across Afghanistan. Aqbik kidnapped Hapgood and fled with her to the Waziri clan donjon of Khan Muzzard Ram and presented her to the leader.
Ram found Hapgood too aggressive and defiant, however, and later argued with Aqbik about the woman. A guard, investigating a commotion eniminating from where they held Hapgood captive, also cursed Aqbik's name for bringing her.
