The Army Doctor was a French doctor serving in the French army, stationed in Port-Gentil, French Equatorial Africa (modern-day Gabon) during World War I. He worked at a hospital in the seaport, treating both military patients and civilian patients. His colleagues included the 2nd Army Doctor, the White Nun, and the Black Nun.

In late December 1916 or early January 1917, he received a new patient: an Ubangi orphan, brought for a check-up by some Belgian troops, who had picked up the boy in the Congo on their way from German East Africa. The doctor inspected the boy, and gave him a clean bill of health other than a little malnourishment, and then returned the boy to Captain Henri Defense (Indiana Jones) and Remy Baudouin. The doctor then excused himself to check on other patients.

It is likely that he may have also treated some of Colonel Pernod's men, many of whom had come down with tropical diseases.

Behind the scenes Edit

Laurent Ragor played the role of the Army Doctor in the episode "German East Africa, December 1916" of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.
