Arnold Smith, nicknamed 'Smitty' and a.k.a Arnold Schmidt was an American born Nazi employed by the German intelligence service. He attempts to kill Indiana Jones by parachuting out of a twin engine Grumman while over the North Atlantic and leaving Indy to his fate. He makes another attempt to kill Indy on a train to the Salisbury Plains but fails again at the cost of his own life.
