Barcelona is the second largest city in Spain, on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. It serves as a major Mediterranean hub for commerce and culture, and is the capital of Catalonia, the region of northeastern Spain.

Adventures in BarcelonaEdit

In May 1917, Indiana Jones traveled to Barcelona as a spy for French intelligence, and worked with several fellow allied intelligence agents to counter German interests in the region. During this time, Jones worked undercover as a dancer in Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes, a job that he gets through his acquaintance with set painter, Pablo Picasso.

In the early summer of 1931, Jones received word that the Wohat figure of a lion had been stolen from the Barcelona History Museum and traveled there to investigate. He encountered Ballantine Gruber and after defeating one of the thieves on the museum roof, he learned that René Belloq was behind the plot. Following the thief back to a hotel, he broke into Belloq's room and recovered five of the missing figurines and pieced together a map leading him to Mombasa. Jones left for Nairobi, not knowing that he was being followed by Belloq's men and Gruber.
