Ben Ali Ayoob was an Egyptian-born Swiss millionaire. As a young man, Ayoob participated in the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb, and the experience had a profound effect on him. Ayoob became obsessed with obtaining historical artifacts, and devoted his considerable wealth to their collection. He was vaporized while trying to obtain The Devil's Heart in 1936.
