Edward Stratemeyer was a writer and the father of Nancy Stratemeyer, high school sweetheart of Indiana Jones. Stratemeyer created the characters of Tom Swift, Nancy Drew, the Bobbsey Twins, the Moving Picture Girls and others under a variety of pseudonyms.
While over the Stratemeyers' house in February 1916, Jones helped Mr. Stratemeyer overcome writer's block on his newest Tom Swift book.[1]
