Crime boss |
Emil Marko was a New York crime boss suspected of trying to kill Marion Ravenwood and destroy her new nightclub but Indiana Jones soon finds a more likely suspect in Jamal. Marko lived on a Hudson River estate which was fronted by the 'Society of Friends of Italian Opera'. Marko was a huge fan of opera and his prized possession was an original wax recording of Enrico Caruso singing La Traviata.
[edit] Behind the scenes
The "Friends of Italian Opera" was also a front for organized crime in the movie Some Like It Hot. Marko's front may be a reference to the film's mobsters.
