Arnold Smith, nicknamed 'Smitty' and a.k.a Arnold Schmidt was an American-born Nazi employed by the German intelligence service. He attempted to kill Indiana Jones by parachuting out of a twin engine Grumman while over the North Atlantic and leaving Indy to his fate. He made another attempt to kill Indy on a train to the Salisbury Plains but failed once more, losing his own life when he was caught standing atop the train as it headed into a tunnel.
