Doctor Marcus Brody thought Christopher Columbus' chest once belonged to Christopher Columbus, but others thought differently. As a result, the chest was stored in the attic of Barnett College amongst various other junk and fakes. Indiana Jones came across the chest in his search for the horned statue.
