Mere d'Amitié Monastery was an ancient structure located in the hillside vineyards of France.

History[]

By 1936, it had been taken over by Ian McIver as a front for a ring of international artifact thieves. The occupants, in the guise of monks, continued to make wine. Amongst the artifacts seen there by Indiana Jones was a Piute Summoning Stone (stolen from the National Museum and retrieved by Indy),[1] a Phoenician Vase, Pharaoh's Crook, Barovian Cross, Steel Lance of St. George, a Chest of Black Opals and an old cloth map showing the progress of the Shintay. The monastery had six floors, including a dungeon basement. The treasury room,[2] from which Indy took the Piute Summoning Stone,[1] was on the third floor.[2]
