A Nazi soldier participated during the Reich's effort to find the Holy Grail in 1938. He served under the orders of Colonel Ernst Vogel and became the first of three Nazis to be felled by one bullet fired by Indiana Jones.
Upon the arrival of the Nazis at the Republic of Hatay, the soldier traveled on one of the trucks driven during the journey to the Temple of the Sun. When the archaeologist Indiana Jones appeared on the scene to rescue his father Henry Walton Jones, Senior and Marcus Brody from Vogel, who had taken them as hostages inside his tank, the soldier along with his companions were called on by the colonel to take the fight to Jones.
Determined to help, the soldier jumped from the truck and attacked but with two of his teammates lining up behind the Nazi, Indy shot him in the chest, killing him and his teammates with one bullet. His body subsquently fell from the tank to the desert floor.
Behind the scenes Edit
The first one shot, three kills Nazi was portrayed uncredited by the late stuntman Martin Grace in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. He had previously played a Nazi soldier during the Desert Chase in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
During the early development of the film's script, written by Jeffrey Boam, additional Nazis to fight against Indiana Jones were absent with only Walter Chandler (Walter Donovan in the final film) and the Hatay Tank Driver present.
