Habib Ouarzaza was a Moroccan Berber thief that lived near Moulay Idriss in the 1930s. As the nature of Moulay Idriss as a sacred place forbade foreigners from digging its ruins, Ouarzaza and other locals were hired by Omar Al-Jabbar to do the job. However, Ouarzaza still depised Al-Jabbar for doing it in benefit of the Germans.

When Indiana Jones and Sophia Hapgood followed rumors of possible Atlantean findings at Moulay Idriss in 1939, they befriended Berber Marksmen and Ouarzaza entertained them. That night he used his "skills" to help the pair steal the artifacts collected by the Nazis. Taking advantage of the locals' superstition, Ouarzaza claimed that he saw the "Evil Eye" in their campfire, causing them to flee, which allowed the pair of archaeologists to punch Klaus Kerner, enter Hans Ubermann's tent and steal his strongbox.

Outside, Jones and Hapgood discovered that the box contained only trinkets, including a device which Ouarzaza identified as a compass, found in an ancient ark in the sand, which detected orichalcum. Afterwards Ouarzaza helped them steal Al-Jabbar's air balloon and volunteered to go with them to the Greek Islands, their next destination, but Indy refused.

Just in time to depart, Ouarzaza gave them back their wallets, which he had surreptitiously taken and emptied earlier as payment for his services.
