Havana is the capital and largest city of Cuba. Located on the northern coast of the island, it was founded in the early 1500s by the Spanish, and soon became one of the top Spanish cities in the New World. In the twentieth century, Havana was a major tourist destination for Americans until the 1959 revolution.
In 1934, Indiana Jones' plane was shot down near Havana en route to the Adventure Society outpost in Mexico, where he had planned on investigating some mysterious Standing Stones. After an attempted murder and some complications with a woman, Jones continued on to South America in search of more information on the Stones.[1]
In 1957, Indiana Jones and Mutt Williams flew from New York City to Nazca in Peru on Pan American Airways, stopping to change planes in Havana, Mexico City and Cusco.[2]
