Ice monster

An Ice monster was an inorganic, demonic creature that patrolled the various hallways of Shambala Sanctuary, presumably for thousands of years. The creatures stood on two legs and moved around either by rolling or by simply running. They appeared to be reptilian although they had translucent bodies seemingly made completely of ice. Most of them were small, however a colossal version, called the ice guardian, was also created to protect the inner sanctum and Urgon's study.
The ice minions, believed to have been crafted by Urgon himself, were responsible for killing all the monks and attacked any intruder by spitting stinging icicles. They usually could be taken out quickly by gunshot, disintegrating into icy shards.
Indiana Jones managed to destroy some of them as he explored the monastery in 1947 but the rest were probably destroyed by the Russians as they arrived to apprehend Jones.
