The Idol of Kouru Watu (also known as the Heart of Kouru Watu) was an artifact discovered by Indiana Jones on an archaeological expedition to Ceylon in 1935. When he recovered the idol from a lost city in Wariyapola, Jones was attacked by Nazi Albrecht Von Beck seeking the same artifact.
The archaeologist managed to escape with the Idol and returned to New York. While examining the object there, Marshall Kai Ti Chan and his assistant Mei-Ying approached Jones to use his services in finding the Mirror of Dreams. When Jones explained he wouldn't know where to look, Mei-Ying picked up the Idol from Jones' desk and suddenly smashed it. Although Jones was initially alarmed, he soon discovered that within the pieces was the part of the Mirror itself.
