The Inland Sea is an island-dotted channel of water that seperates three of the four main islands of Japan: Honshu, Kyushu and Shikoku. The smaller islands on the Island Sea itself contain small fishing and farming villages, and some held castle ruins used by pirates.

Kangetsujima was an island in the Inland Sea, and site of the final days of samurai Nishimori
