John Williams composed the music for the four Indiana Jones films as well as for many other films created by George Lucas and Steven Spielberg. He first became a major figure when he did the score for Jaws in 1975. His next breakthrough came when Star Wars (1977) came out. In 1978, he did Jaws 2, but it wasn't directed by Spielberg. Then came The Empire Strikes Back in 1980. That score is famous for "The Imperial March". Then he did Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). In 1982, his emotional E.T: The Extraterrestrial score was introduced. In 1983, he scored Return of the Jedi. He also scored the Star Wars prequel trilogy, The Phantom Menace (1999), Attack of the Clones (2002) and Revenge of the Sith (2005). His career has many other highlights, too. He has collaborated with Spielberg for a long time. In fact, there is only one major film directed by Spielberg that John Williams did not compose the score for, called "The Color Purple". He even did Spielberg's first theatrical feature, "The Sugarland Express". His most recent Indiana Jones project was Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
