Julius Caesar was a Roman general who rebelled against the Roman senate to be made the dictator of Rome for life.

BiographyEdit

According to a group of French scholars looking for their own national version of Excalibur, Caesar wielded a shape-shifting sword while on campaign in Gaul.[2]

Cleopatra once hid inside a carpet to gain an audience with Caesar.[3] On March 15, 44 BC Caesar was assassinated by a group of senators.[1]

LegacyEdit

Without Adolf Hitler's knowledge, Nazis Joseph Goebbels and Heinrich Himmler sought to acquire an Imperial Fasces from the time of Caesar to keep it out of Benito Mussolini's possession.[2]

By 1938, the Biblioteca di San Barnaba in Venice contained a quote attributed to Caesar saying: "I love the military books here, but they had the gall to divide them into three parts."[4]

Behind the scenesEdit

The quote in the Venetian library is a reference to Caesar's statement that Gaul was split three ways.
