Justinius was a Roman centurion who lived in Trieste, Italy around the second century. At some point in his life, Justinius converted to Christianity and for his own safety, hid several items — a Pentateuch, "The Gospel according to Luke the Physician" and "The Acts of the Apostles, as related to Luke the Physician" — in a secret chapel beneath his home. He also left behind a fasces which grew in worth by the 20th century due to its authenticity.
Justinius' home survived the centuries and eventually became the shop of cobbler Alberto Feducci in the 1930s.
