Korvettenkapitän Klaus Ewerth was captain of U-boat U26 during World War II. The vessel, along with U25 and U53, was directed by German Surpreme Naval Command to penetrate the Mediterranean Sea and lay mines for enemy ships by passing through the "Gibraltar Mousetrap".
