General Masashi Kyojo was a commanding officer in the Japanese Imperial Army. In 1938 he attempted to claim the Covenant of Buddha for Japan but was knocked out in a fight with Indiana Jones.
A freak earthquake caused the temple in Szechuan housing the Covenant to collapse. Jones tried to drag Kyojo out of the building but the general was crushed by a falling statue of the Buddha.
