Massad was one of several soldiers given to Walter Donovan for his quest for the Holy Grail by the Sultan of Hatay. He was the first man to try and make it through the traps in the Grail temple. He fell prey to the Breath of God, and the sight of his headless corpse made his successor so nervous that he, too, failed.
