Michael D. Ford in 2006.

Michael Dickins Ford (1928 - May 31, 2018) was an English film art director and set decorator. He was born in southern England in 1928 and trained as an illustrator at Goldsmiths College, London.

Ford served as set decorator for Raiders of the Lost Ark, the first Indiana Jones film, leading him to become co-recipient of the Academy Award for Best Art Direction. This was preceded by a nomination for work on the Star Wars films The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

Some of his first work includes Man in the Moon, The Anniversary and Kelly's Heroes. Other work of note is Steven Spielberg's Empire of the Sun (for which he received another nomination). Ford also served in a design capacity on the James Bond films The Living Daylights, License to Kill and GoldenEye. He won his second Academy Award for his work on Titanic.

Ford passed away on May 31, 2018. He was 90.
