Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev was the leader of the Soviet Union from 1985 to its collapse in 1991.
In 1993, a US tabloid known as Stargazer claimed he was involved in an affair with actress Jane Fonda. Indiana Jones may have seen this tabloid story, which prompted him to talk about his affair with a famous personality - Mata Hari.
