"May I remind you that Herr Nehrkorn's museum is most likely reduced to rubble, along with the rest of that horrible city."
Rebecca Stein[src]

Nuremberg is a city in the eastern part of Bavaria, in the south of Germany. It served as major trading and administrative center in the Middle Ages, including as informal capital of the Holy Roman Empire. It later served as a main center of the German Renaissance. Because of its history, Adolf Hitler used Nuremburg for massive rallies of the Nazi party, and the symbolic site of the passage of the Nuremberg laws in 1935, which revoked German citizenship for all Jews. The city was heavily bombed during the early part of 1945. After World War II, the city hosted the trials of German war criminals.

Nuremberg was also the place where Dr. Hans Ubermann's laboratory was located. It was there where Ubermann proved that Orichalcum was a powerful but non-pollutant source of energy in 1939. He also proved that the Atlantean horned idol found in Iceland was actually a small mechanical device that could dig miles if fed with a single pearl of orichalcum.

Sometime before or during World War II, the head of the Spear of Longinus was transfered from the Austrian Weltliche Schatzkammer to the museum in Nuremberg, where it was monitored by assistant curator Otto Nehrkorn.

In March 1945, he took the tip to Glastonbury to help in Dieterhoffmann's quest to reassemble the spear. After Dieterhoffmann's death in Ireland, Nehrkorn returned the spear to Nuremburg.

When American forces later captured the city, they found the spear, and other treasures in a bunker, and claimed them.
