A Peruvian Porter was an indigenous Quechuan, one of a group that accompanied Indiana Jones on his expedition to find the Chachapoyan Fertility Idol in 1936.

Biography Edit

The Peruvian Porter was an indigenous Quechuan and spoke fluently that language.[1] He was hired along with other porters to assist American archaeologist Indiana Jones as he sought out the Temple of the Chachapoyan Warriors, which was said to be resting place of a legendary golden idol.

However, after clearing away some brush around an eight-foot tall Chachapoyan statue, the porter was chased away by both the demonic idol, and the nesting animals that flew out of it.[2]

Behind the scenesEdit

The Peruvian Porter was portrayed by the credited actor and stuntman Ted Grossman in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Grossman later went on to portray the Deputy Sheriff in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
