Plato was an ancient Greek philosopher, and the first known writer to mention Atlantis. His works concerning Atlantis are Timaeus, Critias and Hermocrates. Plato was also the mentor of Aristotle.
Plato's fame, and his name, remained popular in the following centuries. Even a donkey in Greece was named after him.
