Premjit Singh was the corpulent father of Zalim Singh who reigned over Pankot as Maharajah before him. In 1930, he was poisoned at the hands of Mola Ram following his discovery of the active Thuggee cult and threatened to expose them to the British and died in a riding accident.[1][2]
A portrait of Singh's likeness was hung up in the palace's Pleasure Pavilion.[2][3]
