Willie Scott[src]

Premjit Singh was the corpulent father of Zalim Singh who reigned over Pankot as Maharajah before him.

Maharajah of Pankot, Premjit Singh became the father of a son, Zalim, in 1922.[1]

In the spring of 1930, Singh, following his discovery of the active Thuggee cult and threat to expose them to the British, was poisoned at the hands of Mola Ram, and died in a riding accident.[1][2]

A portrait of Singh's likeness was hung up in Pankot Palace's Pleasure Pavilion where it was viewed by a visiting Willie Scott in 1935.[2][3]

Behind the scenesEdit

Zalim Singh's father is named "Shafi Singh" in the Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom novel and "Uhmed Singh" in the film's screenplay. He's identified as Premjit in the Temple of Doom Sourcebook, and the Ultimate Guide.
