Rachel Mauberg was the mother of anthropology student Alan James Mauberg. She was living in Oak Park, Illinois in 1935.

The front page of the 7/10/35 edition of the Chicago Tribune reported that her son had been murdered by his hired bodyguards while on an expedition in Africa. However, five days later Mauberg wrote to his mother to explain that he had in fact survived the incident.
