The rock monsters were large, lumbering beings that guarded specific places in the Palawan Temple. They were bipedal and attacked anyone by swinging their massive arms for a melee attack.

Since they were slow-moving, Indiana Jones bypassed them easily but he killed others by either using Urgon's Part to shatter them or by coercing them into swinging their arms to attack him then moving out of the way causing them to destroy themselves.
