Rock monsters were large, lumbering energy beings that guarded specific places within the Palawan Temple. They were bipedal humanoids with a rock-like exterior that attacked anyone by swinging and clapping together their massive stony arms.
Since they were slow-moving, Indiana Jones bypassed them easily but he killed others by either using Urgon's Part of the Infernal Machine to shatter them or by coercing them into swinging their arms to attack him then moving out of the way causing them to destroy themselves.
