Paul Smith was a federal agent who interrogated Indiana Jones in 1957 following the archaeologist's escape from Hangar 51 and the nuclear blast over Doom Town. He suspected Jones of being a Communist in league with the Soviets. He was on a first-name basis with General Ross.
