Susan Ryan was an Archaeology 101 student at Marshall College whom Indiana Jones was seducing in 1936. As a professor, Jones had suggested revisions for her term paper on "Archaeological Artifacts and Folklore". They were together at the archaeologist's home when Marcus Brody arrived to tell Jones that the US Government had agreed on him being the man to find the Ark of the Covenant.

Behind the scenesEdit

Jones, Susan and Brody

Susan was portrayed by Pola Churchill in Raiders of the Lost Ark but the scenes featuring her were ultimately cut from the final picture.[1]

The character was, however, included in the film's novelization by Campbell Black, and later referenced in 2008's The Lost Journal of Indiana Jones where Susan's surname was established as Ryan.
