Talk:Fedora

From Indiana Jones Wiki

Is the fedora intended to be the same hat throughout all his life (1912 to 1992)? Or is there any point where he purchases/gains a new fedora or shows disregard for his hat?

I know the latest film has one scene loses his fedora without regaining it (and magically has it later in the move). I'm wondering if there's any material connecting the hat, and if a canonical article can be written about it (similar to his journal).--Tim Thomason 02:57, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

Which Movie does he Lose it in? and then MAgicly Regain it?--(unsigned)
Well not really "magically," but I thought he lost it in KotCS when he put it on the head of a football player in the diner (to evade the Russians).--Tim Thomason 01:06, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
The hat you are talking about is gray, the same one he wears on the train. His other hat is brown, just like in all previous movies. Apparently he has a gray one to go with his gray suit, and at least one other one, the brown one he wears with his adventure clothes. The fact that they are different colors kind of makes it obvious that there is no magic involved. They are different hats. Or, the hat magically reappears, and Indy takes the time to die it brown. It could work either way. 72.216.52.63 18:47, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Temple of Doom Fedora

—Over the years, I read that Stetson fedoras were actually used as stunt hats in The Temple of Doom at least in a few scenes (explaining the marked change of appearance of the hats worn on screen). Several years ago, a stetson fedora from Temple of Doom was sold at Sothebys auction house, with excellent provenance. It appears that at least a few stetsons were worn in the film although Herbert Johnson made the majority of hats worn.
