Tula is a city in Russia, (modern day Russian Federation), located about 100 miles south of Moscow. The city dates back to the 14th century, and became a major ironworking and industrial city in the eighteenth century. It was on the rail line between Moscow and Odessa. The home and burial ground of Leo Tolstoy is located near Tula.

In 1910, young Indiana Jones, his parents Henry and Anna, and his tutor Helen Seymour passed through Tula on the rail line, on their way from Kuntsevo to Greece.
