The Village of Shadows was an Indian settlement removed from humanity by the goddess Parvati as punishment for the theft of a collection of golden statues from the village's temple.

Inhabited by the spirits of its residents, the village could only be accessed within an hour of midnight on a new moon or during a total solar eclipse. As such, the village went unfound by archaeologists and raiders seeking the treasures purported to still be there after Parvati's curse struck.

The village was eventally accessed by a group of adventurers who were tasked by the spirit of the temple's former high priest to find the missing statues and free the villagers from their eternal prison.
