In 1936, after recovering the Ark of the Covenant from the Nazis, Indiana Jones and Marcus Brody met with American government officials, Major Eaton and Colonel Musgrove in Washington DC to receive payment and end Jones' research with the artifact. Leaving the meeting, Jones met with Marion Ravenwood and decided to get a drink.
[edit] Behind the scenes
The Raiders of the Lost Ark scene in Washington DC where Jones and Ravenwood descend the stairs was shot inside the City Hall building of San Francisco. This scene was added to give resolution to their relationship.
